APRIL PRAYER FOCUS

              Hi Everyone

This month I have the overwhelming impression of a question on my mind …. What next? or What now?

I’m sure for all of us there have been times in our lives that we have been brought to an abrupt halt or felt like we’ve come across an insurmountable ‘object’ … in whatever form, that we can’t get round or move beyond! We can be happily getting on with daily life and suddenly something gets in the way to throw us off course. There are many things that can happen to cause this …. loss of a job, so suddenly finances are challenged, …. the onset of physical or mental illness, so suddenly we can’t do things we did so easily before ….. a relationship change through loss, be it death, divorce or separation, which causes a whole change in family dynamics….

These are the big things … but there are many other maybe less obvious ones …. difficult decisions about what happens next, where to turn if we need help or how to deal with difficult relationships, even just the end of one particular ’season’ in your life and you need to change what you’re doing! …. Life is full of unexpected challenges!!

I have to think this is how the disciples must have felt after Easter Day!!! They’d had Jesus with them to talk to and learn from, they could follow Him and do as He said, take their lead from Him, then suddenly He is gone and they didn’t know what to do next!!

He’d told them this was going to happen and reassured them of the outcome, but they hadn’t understood…

“I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.”

Jn 14 v 18

This was the promise of the Holy Spirit as helper and comforter.

We still have that promise today …. we are not abandoned, we are not on our own, we have the wise council and comfort that Jesus promised, He is there whenever we turn to Him to give us wisdom, peace and revelation for our next step.

So turn to Him with your questions, worries and fears …

The song I’ve chosen is titled ‘Trust in God’ and below is an extract from the lyrics and a link ….

I trust in God My Savior,

The One who will never fail, He will never fail

Perfect submission, All is at rest

I know the Author of tomorrow, Has ordered my steps

So if you are in a position where you are wondering “what do I do next?“ …. The first thing is to spend some time with your Heavenly Father let Him calm your troubled mind and show you what your next move is ….

As you pray thank Him for His love and care for you and all His children, being assured that He wants only the best for us.

Thank Him for the promise that He goes before us to prepare the way and He’s also our rear guard.

Thank Him for equipping us to meet every challenge that gets in our path.

Pray for Him to bring many others to know this love and security that He offers.

Pray for the preparing of hearts and minds to be open to the message that will come through the Revive Scotland event happening in May …

Pray also for all the meetings and preparations leading up to it, pray for protection of everyone involved, that nothing would stand in the way of Gods plan.

Also at this time when the schools are on Easter break, pray that all the staff will get time to rest and recharge for the next term and that children will be kept safe and well cared for, and that parents will cope with the change in routine.

These are some of the situations close to home but there are no doubt many more that are known to each of us personally… not to mention all the wars, famines and disasters around the wider world … so remember in prayer any of these that are brought to your attention.

If there is anything that anyone feels they want to bring to our attention please let us know.

God Bless you all
